Welcome to Tamborine Mountain, the Maitreya Australia Center - known as the MET center.
Tamborine Moutain is in the Gold Coast Hinterland and has a subtropical climate. It is a plateau, 550 meters above sea level, 4 kms wide and 8 kms long and originated as a lava flow from the Mt Warning volcano, some 22 million years ago.
Tamborine Mountain has a magic which envelopes people when they visit. So many have come for a day – and returned to stay for a lifetime. “Mountain time” is the relaxing and revitalizing tonic that so many people need and many can affirm its benefit
The population now exceeds 5’000 people from all parts of the world. The needs are met by the three communities of North Tamborine, Eagle Heights and Mount Tamborine. Between them the semi-rural aspects of the Mountain enthrall visitors and locals alike, and the rich red soil supports a large variety of crops including avocados, kiwi fruits, rhubarb, flowers, grapes and coffee.
